All of his labs are in normal ranges and he is an active senior boy. What kind of home would be best for me: Jett is a wonderful boy who needs a home with no young children. He is fine with other dogs and indifferent to cats. His ideal home is one where he can be the only dog. What is my personality like: Jet came to Carolina Poodle Rescue from a family that loves him very, very much. The family dynamic changed and now involves young children, and sadly Jett just didn't want to share his home and humans with young children. The decision to help Jett find a new family was difficult and painful and selfless. Jett has been very, very loved. Jett's previous family shared lots of great details about him to ensure he can find his perfect new family. Here is what they said. Jett likes to take walks. He loves to lay outside in the sun, but cannot be trusted alone outside. He still enjoys chasing squirrels, birds, etc. and will leave the yard in pursuit if his yard isn't fenced and he is left alone. Jett enjoys going to the dog park and playing tug-of-war with soft toys. When it is time to rest, Jett wants to be where you are. He sleeps in the bed and wants to be as close to you as possible. If you have a soft blanket, it is even better! Jett is okay in the car, but long car rides are not for him. While he has traveled the East Coast via car, these were not experiences he enjoyed. Jett can be sensitive to beeping noises. Fire alarms, door alarms, cell phone pings, etc. make him nervous. While he enjoys love and affection, he does not like people in his face. Interactions that are too close to his face make him nervous. So do children. Jett knows basic commands. He is good for baths, but does not enjoy having his nails trimmed. He is accustomed to routine and does well with routine he is familiar with. Jett is good with other dogs, but would be best as an only dog.
