About Sammy

Sammy is a 6-9 month old Lancashire Heeler mix... that means he is a cattle dog, and he sure acts like it, believe me! Sammy is a wild child who came into RCAC with a broken leg. :( We generally don't pull younger dogs, but no one else had room for him at the time, and we couldn't leave him up there injured like that. He is out of his cast finally, but still on crate rest, and he is about FED UP with that haha. He is mostly house trained and mostly crate trained and 100% stubborn to a fault. No aggression issues, but he is very high energy and very smart. He needs a dedicated family with lots of time and energy for training and exercise. Sammy is a small dog (under 15lbs) and will likely stay that size as an adult. He loves other dogs, but he plays very rough so would do better with a younger playmate rather than an older dog. Has not been cat tested. He needs to be neutered, and then he will be ready to go home! No small children, please, as Sammy thinks fingers are chew toys!
