About Bree

Boston Terrier / Yorkie
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them homeless and at risk. Bree, at 13 weeks old and just about about 4 lbs (estimated to be full grown at about 15 lbs), was facing homelessness just as her life was beginning. Farfel's New Mexico rescuers are compassionate and loving and just couldn't turn their back on this puppy with the most beautiful dark eyes that speak of wisdom far beyond her years. She also has an excellent temperament. Bree is a great ambassador for her breed mix..very loving, silly, fun-loving and absolutely beautiful. A Farfel's foster rescued Bree just in time to spare her life. Bree is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of her temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life. Vets and rescuers voiced their opinions that Bree will be a wonderful addition to very loving, dog-crazy and responsible families. Bree is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. Once comfortable in her surroundings, she's also super- loving and cuddly. Bree would be very excited to be a lap puppy and cuddle with her favorite people all throughout the day. She's also a sensitive girl who gets very attached to her people..it's for these reasons that we feel that Bree should join a family that works just part-time, from home or in a pet-friendly workplace. Since Bree is just a baby, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion - Bree will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through Puppy Kindergarten followed by positive reinforcement level 1 group Obedience Classes. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. We're open to Bree finding her forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart puppy. Bree loves children as well...we would prefer to place her in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment will create a puppy that's fearful of children). Older kids can be active participants in a training regimen that's so important in a puppy's development as a well-behaved adult dog. Farfel's feels so strongly about a well-trained dog being a gift to their guardian that we're not willing to adopt Bree out to a family that doesn't choose to give her the gift of training. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement/force-free trainers in your area. Bree will require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition (5 star food and salmon oil are excellent in a dog's diet for longevity and hair care) to keep her coat very healthy, shining and soft as cotton. Bree will be up to date on her vetting/vaccinations but won't be spayed when she arrived in Colorado. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Bree's spay/microchip at one of our rescue vets to be in line with our commitment to adopting out only healthy and fixed dogs. Bree will be arriving on transport in late March (we'll update when we get final date confirmation). Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet, adorable and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Bree please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder, Rescueme and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
