About Ginger

MEET GINGER - Female Shar Pei - Spayed- 6-7 years old. PLEASE SHARE!! This special lady deserves to be spoiled! Sweet Ginger, despite all she has been through, LOVES people! She gets super excited for walks and also like to just hang out and get all the pets. She knows how to sit and stay and is pretty good on a lead once she gets her energy out the first 5-10 minutes. She is food motivated which makes her a great people pleaser and easy to train. House trained and knows basic commands. Older, well mannered kids only. No other pets, she has been attacked by dogs in the past and has developed some dog aggression (rightfully so) but she can be desensitized overtime to other dogs, with proper training and the right handler. She was very abused before we got her; she will NOT do well in a house with lots of loud voices or yelling. She will also not respond well to aggressive training. She will need a patient owner, who can give her time and space to adjust to her new home and work on dog desensitization. She would greatly benefit from being enrolled into a positive reinforcement training program. This little lady just needs someone who will love and spoil her so she can fully trust in humans again! She should be an only dog, no other pets in the home.
