Underdog Transport took him to their vet for help to figure out what was wrong. He was hospitalized for 70 days. He has since been released and has gone into a foster home. He is doing amazingly well and is now looking for his happily ever after. He is in a foster in Las Cruces, NM. Medical - He has inflammatory bowel disease and will need special food and medication for the rest of his life. Hills Science Diet I/D Food is $85 for 27 pounds. Meds right now are Prednisone and Omeprazole - probably around $40 a month for both. He will need monthly vet check ups once he is stabilized. Temperament- Very happy, playful, and loving overall. Can be dominant and standoffish- prefers to be petted on his terms like a cat. Since he can be temperamental with lots of petting and affection he will need a dog savvy adopter and no children. Energy Level- High energy now that he feels good Dogs/Cats- He ignores other dogs. Has not met cats as the fosters don't have any. Housetrained- Crate trained and house trained. This guy is absolutely beautiful. We will be posting some videos soon as well. He loves fetch and chasing tennis balls every chance he gets. Loves, loves, loves toys. He did need some extensive medical so is carrying a higher adoption fee to help recover at least a small portion of that so there are some funds for the next pup needing help. Please keep in mind he will need a special diet and medication for life. Adoption fee $500 includes neuter, age appropriate vaccinations (4 for puppies), deworming, microchip, rabies, collar and leash, training information, and all the support you need.
