About Sabook

Such a sweet face! Sabook is a 2 yr old 93 pound Mastiff that was owner surrendered to the pound. Sabook's first owner neglected him. He was underweight, unhealthy, & kept outside all the time. Another woman saw him at the shelter & fell in love with him because of his gentle nature. She pulled him from the pound but unfortunately her first dog did not accept Sabook. Now Sabook is with LAAR patiently waiting for his forever home. Sabook is reactive to large, aggressive male dogs but is good with small dogs. We don't know Sabook's history but he's nervous around children initially. He is fostered in a home with dog savvy, older kids & he is doing well. While tentative with ppl at first, if you love & feed him he'll be forever loyal to you. A home with only adults or older, dog savvy children is best. He's good on leash, fixed, up to date on vaccines, is gaining weight & healthy again. Sabook doesn't bark, is crate trained, is not a high energy dog & more of a lounger. He loves the outdoors as much as the couch. He's a gentle giant with a big head that nudges you asking for pets. He has long droopy cheeks so he sometimes looks sad but he perks up with a plushy toy & a belly rub. His first owner stole his youth from him. Now that he is older you can see glimpses of him wanting to be a puppy again, but the young, hyper phase has gone.
