About Lenny

Lenny is a 4yo, neutered, house trained, staffy mix. He's happy for the simple things...easy walks & rolling on the grass. He's good on leash & in the car. Older kids only as he is clumsy. Not good with dogs. Cats unknown. He is a big 75lb gentle dude. Lenny is a bit socially awkward. He's so great & goofy at his foster home but just a fish out of water in public. Poor guy is a nervous wreck in new environments. Living with a drug addict all his life before coming to us has given him some emotional baggage. He's a sensitive guy & he just needs a very specific type of person that will understand & accept his quirkiness. His Backstory: Lenny's original owner was an addict who abandoned him & another dog with his parents. The parents were not able or willing to take on the dogs so they put them in 'cheap' boarding. Once they notified the boarder that they would no longer be able to pay, she started to list them for sale on Craigslist even though she was aware of the dangers of Craigslist. The bottom line was that once she was not collecting money for them, they needed to go. She gave us a deadline & said if they weren't able to be sold on Craigslist by a certain date she would take them to the shelter. Our volunteer that saw the conditions they were living in & said the shelter would definitely be a step up. ���� Their paws were treated for infection which the vet said was most likely caused from unsanitary living conditions (standing in urine). They were being kept in separate small rooms & only let out into a filthy yard to potty then back to solitary. They were not being walked or played with. ���� Lenny is now with us & is happy & grateful to have a second chance at a true forever home.
