About Claire

Claire is a 3-4 year old mixed breed dog who weighs about 45 pounds. You can tell life's been hard for her because both of her ears are ripped and torn and she was not treated very kindly at a young age. Claire is just fine with the other dogs in her foster home. She enjoys following them in and out into the fenced yard. Claire is comfortable in her foster home but is still startled at times. She is scared of new situations and nervous around new people. Claire will need someone who is willing to give her time to adjust to a new home but understands that she will never be a confident, social butterfly. Does like Claire are the ones who need rescues the most and they are the ones who need adopters the most! Do you have it in your heart to give Claire a new life? Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
