About Cooper-PENDING!

Corgi / Fox Terrier
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Whenever a sweet and engaging Corgi mix gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that dogs of this breed mix are very loving, super- smart (considered by many to be among the most intelligent and fun-loving dogs available today) and make loyal and very sweet family companions. Cooper will fit very well into a household and make an excellent best friend for all age groups as well as gentle canines. Cooper is a cuddly and very sweet Corgi mix.The vets believe him to be about 18 months old and 28 lbs of pure cuteness. Cooper was recognized by his rescuers as having an excellent temperament and sweet as can be personality..these traits won this gorgeous guy a ticket to a new life in Colorado. There was no doubt in his rescuer's mind that Cooper would be a dream come true to a dog-crazy and very loving family. Cooper (once comfortable in his environment) is very puppyish in his enthusiasm for all people that are kind to him. He has a love of life and a positive attitude that warms the heart. After all, this very deserving guy has never had a loving and nurturing family to call his own. He has been a victim of circumstance all his life...Farfel's Rescue is committed to changing this circumstance for this beautiful dog that has so much to offer a committed and very loving family. Rescue dogs can initially be a bit shy or nervous..this is expected in light of the very long transports and stresses of rehoming. When an adopting family is sensitive to the challenges of change and acclimation for these dog's, the transition is far easier. A home with a very loving and nurturing family that understands that blossoming takes time would be perfect. Socialization, pure love and belly rubs is a gift to a dog that is undergoing a life change. Given the time and space, these dogs shine. Cooper is one of these pups that is a blank slate just waiting for the commitment of a great family. His love will know no bounds as he becomes a best friend and very loyal companion. Group training classes with a positive reinforcement trainer would truly serve both Cooper and his family (as it does every dog and their people). Together they will learn the skills to have Cooper be a companion that is well-behaved and respectful when out in the world with his people. It also creates strong bonds of respect between pup and family. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement/force-free trainers in your area. Cooper is such a great age and size... at 18 months old, Cooper is at an excellent stage in life - young enough to be a completely blank slate, open to training and new concepts while being old enough to have left many of his babyish behaviors behind. We envision very active, dog-loving retirees as a great home for our sweet guy. He would be thrilled with the pure love and time spent. Cooper would also do really well with a younger family that works either part-time or from home to love this wonderful dog up throughout the day. Cooper enjoys kids as great playmates and night time snugglers (older kids are preferred so no tail-pulling or awkward handling occurs) and would thrive with the fun and special kind of love that children provide. We feel that Cooper is too sensitive to spend long hours alone while her family works full-time outside of the home. Cooper has a beautiful coat that is currently shelter- sad. With a commitment to lifelong sudsy baths/brushing and great nutrition (a 5 star food and salmon oil supplement is a great lifelong regimen for coat care as well as longevity) Cooper's coat will become super- healthy and gorgeous with it's fawn coloring and cottony softness. Cooper will be up to date on his vetting and vaccinations. While we request it and always hope that dogs will be neutered when they arrive from New Mexico, we're not always optimistic that it will occur. If it doesn't, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Cooper to be neutered and microchipped at one of our Colorado rescue vets. Cooper is arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 3/14/19. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet pup. If interested in this beautiful and very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out our application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Cooper please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder, Rescueme and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
