About Doodlebug

Looking for a pup that makes you smile every day? Longing for tail wags and funny antics? Doodlebug can handle that and more! A delightful 11-lb. Rattie mix who's only 2 years old, Doodlebug is deaf, but it doesn't faze her at all! In fact, except for sleeping super soundly and getting startled on occasion, which makes her unsuitable for a home with young children, she doesn't seem like a dog who can't hear. Doodlebug is crate trained and house-trained, and she gets along well with the four other Rattie mixes in her foster home. She enjoys playing with them outdoors and will definitely require a securely fenced yard in her new home. Whether she's chewing a bone, waiting for a snack, or napping, she's always hanging out with another dog or human in the house. If she makes what her foster mom calls her 'monster noises,' don't be alarmed. She doesn't know what it sounds like. While Doodlebug lives with two male dogs in her foster home, she has been picky with new males she has met. She definitely should have at least one other active female dog of similar size to be a playmate and companion to her. Doodlebug gets insecure and a little stressed in new environments. Dog meetings outside of her comfortable home environment are scary for her, and it takes a little time for her to feel safe. She needs an adopter who has had experience as a dog parent and who will be patient and help her to settle in with her new canine siblings. Due to Doodlebug's insecurities, dog parks, doggy daycare, and restaurant patios are NOT on her lists of likes. A fenced yard, playmates, comfy furniture, lots of love, and walks ARE on her list of likes. To assure that Doodlebug and her future canine siblings will get along, potential applicants should live within reasonable driving distance of her foster home in Greensboro, NC so that the dogs can meet first.
