About Micheal Shane

I am VERY reluctant to rehome my dachshund, Micheal Shane! A DPT school 15 hours from my home accepted me into their program, so I will be moving up there very soon. I work as well as go to school and find myself not being home enough to walk him as much as he needs it. I feel like that will get worse in grad school, and I don't want him to suffer from my care! Micheal Shane is best with small groups of people. He has been around kids and gets along with well disciplined kids the best. He has more of a calm personality and gets nervous around a lot of energy. We have found that he is best with calm people. He gets hyper at times, usually after a bath or when I first walk in. Other than that, he likes to follow me around, occasionally play fetch, or lay in his bed. When he's around other dogs, he will sniff them then eventually growl when they sniff his privates. The only dog I've seen him do great around is a female Maltese. I think he is intimidated by larger breeds and other males. He is potty trained and well behaved. I adopted him from a shelter about 4 years ago. He's been nothing but a pleasure!! He would come with his dog bed, toys, clothes, thunder shirt for anxiety, shampoo, leads and collars, and anything else he owns as well as his travel bag. I would love to see him go to a home with someone that will be home to spoil him! He will wine for awhile when he's left alone! I would also like to attempt to FaceTime him every now and then to check up on him. I do not want to give him up, but I feel like it's the best option right now.
