About Skipper

Always read entire post please. Meet Skipper! A presumed Lab mix, his older fella is 64lbs and about 8-9 years old. We won't sugar coat it--Skipper was a grumpy old man when he arrived! He didn't understand what all the young whippersnappers around him were always yelling about and why kids kept getting on his lawn. Now, he is settled into a nice routine and happy as a clam :) Skipper is a social boy, loving affection and wants to be pet all over. He can be around other dogs politely but would really rather them mind their own business, thank you very much! He may not like to share his home with other dogs, but we would be willing to try introductions to see how they go. He may just need one that needs space and time to warm up. If you are replying to a post on a rescue site- Please tell us about your family, activities, other animals and your expectations of your pet and what they can expect from you and the city in which you live. You are encouraged to make every effort to visit the shelter for a meet and greet. Staff available to assist. You can walk on the trails and interact in the play yards. Unless otherwise noted, we can not say if a dog does well with cats, livestock or chickens or with the dogs you may already have in your home or at dog parks. So please, if you have a dog, please arrange to bring for a meet and greet. Current vaccinations, spayed or neutered and micro chipped. Available at the Josephine County Animal Shelter 1420 Brookside Blvd. Grants Pass, across from the Grants Pass Airport. You are encouraged to call the shelter at 541 474-5458. When calling please press option 0. Hours open to the public 10 am - 4 pm every day except Sunday and posted holidays. Up to date on shots, spayed or neutered and micro chipped. Regular adoption fees are $145 for adult dogs under 7 years old. Seven and older are identified as seniors and are $50. In honoring our veterans, we offer half off regular adoption fee with presentation of Government issued VA ID.
