About Maya

Our sweet little dog is ready to find her forever family! Maya is 6 and a 1/2 months whippet catahoula mix. She is a true puppy despite her birth defects. They definitely are not a disability for her however. She lives her life just like any other dog except she is 100% deaf and only has 1 eye. Maya was born this way. She has limited vision in her other eye. Maya loves playing a lot, both inside and outside. She gets along with dogs of all sizes. Her favorite foster sibling is a chihuahua and lab mix. She loves kids and the cat at the foster home doesnt phase her at all. Car rides and walks gets her tail waggin so hard if she were a plane she would land in your arms and in your heart. Whoever her new owner is she hopes that she is allowed to sleep on furniture because she loves curling up with you at night sleeping under the covers. Maya knows how to use the doggie door but still needs to go out regularly to avoid accidents. She is such a big baby and only 34 lbs. She's a quick learner and will required a patient family. She is getting started with a vibrating e collar tonight to help with commands. A spay contract will be a requirement as she is too young to spay right now. Her shots are up-to-date.
