About Knox

MEET KNOX This grand old man is an amazing loving senior who has not had the best life. Knox came to us as a stray from a couple who found him wandering in the woods. He had laid down in the path and just given up. The husband fed him for several days before Knox decided to get up and follow him home. They realized that Knox needed more care than they could provide so reached out to rescue. Knox is approximately 10 years old and very obviously has not had the best of lives. He is missing part of an ear, has scars on his nose and a host of medical issues. Knox has cataracts in both eyes and a floating lens in one eye making him mostly blind. But that doesn't slow him down. He has learned his way around the rescue and manages just fine. Knox also has degenerative cardiomyopathy which is a hardening of the heart. Of course he also has heartworm and severe arthritis. Knox has tons of love to give and is a joy to be around. He is house trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He needs someone who will show him around his new house so that he can learn the way. He has definitely become an INSIDE dog since he has been at the rescue. We adore giving this old man ear rubs every morning. Knox is looking for a forever family or a forever foster. He is currently on medication for his heartworm and arthritis and will be for the rest of his life. Knox is up to date on vaccines, heart worm positive, permanently deferred for neuter.
