About McCoy

*** ADOPTION PENDING *** McCoy is the most handsome 10 lb. Lab mix with gorgeous green eyes and reddish/brown interspersed in his black coat. Best of all, he loves having his photo taken and poses for you with his deliciously photogenic face! This boy is simply a doll. Intelligent, inquisitive and alert, you can sometimes see him in the process of learning as he sits and just watches what's going on around him. McCoy is very engaged with the outside world and the environment around him and will come and sit by your side for attention, in a gentle way that is so-o huggable. Although he has always been the biggest in his litter, he never uses his size to bully any of his siblings. He plays happily with his toys and his siblings as well as with the other dogs in his foster home, but at this early stage, seems to like people best of all. McCoy is one of McKenna's MC's and was born on 01/06/20 and raised in foster care, so he is very well socialized with people and other dogs. He is almost ready to go to his forever home, so we are now accepting applications for him. We anticipate McCoy will be between 50-70 lbs when fully grown. This boy is in the developmental stage of exploring the world with his mouth and will also be teething with sharp teeth for quite some time to come. Please do not apply if you have children under age 8 or, if they are older, who will not be able to tolerate this. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care, so please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested prior to submitting. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health and safety of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering, and microchipping before transporting our dogs. Then, we provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you.
