Location Brighton MI courtesy post for owner NO YOUNG KIDS OR YOUNG GRANDKIDS PLEASE Key Points for Cooper: - 5 years old - Male Visla/lab/ black mouth cur mix - No Young Children - Loves people - Loves attention - Loves his butt scratched (even if you start by petting his head it always does a 180 and backs up into you ) - Likes to play fetch but gets bored quickly - Loves to try to sniff out and chase chipmunks (but has never caught one!) - Loves his kong filled with peanut butter - Loves laying down next to you or on your lap while you pet him - Likes to go swimming - Skittish around other dogs; is better around dogs with a calm temperament - Resource guards his food bowl, sometimes his dog bed, sometimes furniture he is on - Terrified is thunder storms - Will get right into a car, but shakes and pants during the ride usually - Gets scared/anxious pretty easily - Likes to be around people; likes to be outside more if someone is out there with him! - All he wants is love - if you give him love he will give plenty back! - No small animals -updated on all vet care -Issues Cooper will growl/hair stand up when he is anxious/nervous/scared. Does it with his food bowl, his dog bed, and sometimes furniture he is on. If he is in an enclosed space (even if you are over top of him about to let him in a door, you can tell he is uncomfortable). Sometimes putting his harness on he will shake or low growl for this reason. Drying him off after a bath is the same way (although he is fine during the bath?). Reaching in towards him if he's in the back seat of a car will trigger the same reaction. Cooper has been evaluated by two trainers and has been making progress. Cooper has a lot of potential but needs someone that will give him time to settle into his new home on his own terms. With his resource guarding he needs someone that can continue with his training and broaden his training with more experiences and building his confidence.
