Age: Young Adult

TO BE KILLED 3/5/20 please if you can foster or adopt this sweet boy please contact kat at 516 457-3678 UPDATE: Bacci's had a sad past, but then he got the shelter and entered their fostercare program. But no one adopted him and now he is not only back at the shelter (the poor kid), he is on the list to die as well. He was found behind a locked gate in front of an abandoned house :( Affectionate Bacci loves toys and cuddles but needs a little help polishing his manners! How could anyone leave this precious little boy with his furrowed brow, pleading eyes, and heart full of worry and anxiety as the gate shut behind his owner, as his owner walked away? But they did. They just walked away and left BACCI there. How long did he wait for someone to notice that he was not only alone, but the house he was in front of was empty? How hungry, cold and scared he must have been. But to his credit he was brave and stoic, and someone did find him and take him to the shelter where, instantly, everyone feel head over heels in love with him. As a volunteer wrote: 'Did someone order a little brindle meatball? Because that's me, Bacci! I'm a lovable, 1-year-old guy that you can practically put in your pocket. I have a very expressive little face and an irresistible waggy bottom that will melt your heart. As you can see, my head tilt game is On Point. Speaking of games, I love to have fun! I love chasing the ball and getting the zoomies. I'm a very curious little guy and I walk nicely on leash, investigating all the smells along the way. I also love affection and I don't mind wearing sweaters! Don't I look handsome? Please come visit me at the shelter so we can start having all kinds of good times together.' So don't wait a minute longer, because BACCI wants to be in someone's happy home by the time Thanksgiving comes. Foster or adopt him now. Housetrained: Partially Energy level/descriptors: Bacci is described as friendly, playful, and energetic, with a high activity level. FUN FACTS: Summary (1): From the foster profile: How long do you usually leave your dog alone each day? The maximum is about 6 hours, but he's been alone as long as ten. He did quite well. He only seems to destroy his own toys (he is quite the chewer) and the worst mischief he's gotten up to is occasionally ripping up tissues or toilet paper and trying to steal socks. Does your foster dog know any cues? He is mostly responsive to sit and stay, although he is easily distracted from both. He seems to be learning 'kennel' and has been pretty food at 'drop' to get him to give up his ball. Does your foster dog have any cute or endearing habits that would make people want to meet him/her? He LOVES cuddling between two people, or sitting right next to one person for hours (including snoring away), he'll burrow up right close. He wiggles his butt with great joy when you come home. He's super curious about everything. Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about your foster dog? He's a really good dog. He is incredibly tolerant of touching in places other dogs would freak out about, like paws and mouth, nothing phases him even taking away a treat or ball. He barks a little when people come in and out of the building entry but he's getting better about that. I think he would do great in an environment where he gets to be around his people often and can be outside without the distractions of other pets/children. ENERGY LEVEL: Bacci is reported to be an active and enthusiastic dog. We recommend daily mental and physical stimulation as a way to direct his energy and enthusiasm.
