Meet Chance This poor boy named Chance has no idea what just happened to him and why he's at a noisy, scary shelter. Chance struggles to be brave and volunteers and staff have taken a protective liking to him, spending as much time as they can to help him transition. Chance was owner surrendered on Dec. 1, 2019. The family was told by their doctor that the family's toddler was allergic and the dog had to go. We were happy to take Chance in and give him a safe place as we look for his forever home. Chance is a wonderful dog, despite his rough start in life. Chance is about four years old. His first year was spent neglected and abused and living on the end of a tether until his most recent owner took him in. Things were good for the next few years and Chance was happy, but once the baby came along and the allergies developed, Chance found himself homeless. Chance is a great dog. He's thought to be a pointer/terrier mix about four years old. He's great with dogs and cats. He's gentle with children and likes people, although he can be a little timid around men, shying away. But his trust can be built with patience and kindness. He's house-trained and crate trained. Chance rides well in a car and loves to go on walks with his people or romp and run in his yard. He's just about perfect! Chance gamely wags his tail and tries to attract attention by being a 'good boy' standing by his kennel door. He's a beautiful dog with a white coat and the cutest of black patches on his ears and his sides. Chance weighs 50 pounds, but because he's so calm he doesn't appear as large as that might sound. We are heartbroken for this boy. It's hard to see him struggle in kennel environment, especially since he is so perfect in almost every way. He will make for a wonderful addition to any family. If you are looking for a sweet and gentle, house-ready and cute-as-a-button dog to welcome to your family, come meet our Chance. He will make for a loyal companion and a great family member. Chance will be fully vetted, he's neutered and will be microchipped before going home. Call 706-865-4135 for information on additional health services provided as part of the adoption fee.
