About Grunt (east)

Hi, my name is GRUNT ID#A4239302 I am a male, neutered tan and brindle American Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter staff think I am about 2 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Jan 31, 2020. Recent notes from volunteers who recently spet time with Grunt: 03/01/20 17:45 Grunt exhibits higher arousal intermittently when soliciting attention outside of kennel; needs outlet from shelter environment; adding to urgent behavior; behavior team will work with this dog, but if no improvement is seen, will be added to euthanasia list. 2/5/2020 EVALUATION some pulling on leash; jumped to solicit attention from familiar handler in yard, mouthy at times, some nipping at handler's shirt, but remained friendly; coexisted, explored with friendly female dog; when this dog jumped on other dog at fence trying to get handler's attention, both dogs started to escalate, but quickly separated/settled w/ handler correction. 2/12/2020 WALK - Friendly and excited in kennel/jumped a bit. Easy pull/moderate return, easy/loose leash walker. Was cuddly and relaxed in yard. More difficult returnhe was avoidant, jumped and tried to nip at arms/hands. 3/1/2020 OBSERVATION easy kennel pull; some pulling on leash; intemittently jumped up and nipped at handler's arms/body to solicit attention; settled when handler pet or knelt down with dog; in small yard, explored, then came to handler for petting; returned to kennel without issue.
