About Diamond

Don't let a little gray on this pretty face fool you; inside is a puppy who makes frequent appearances! Diamond is a 12-lb. 12-year-old Rat Terrier, who was surrendered to a shelter due to a new baby in the family. Diamond loves people and other dogs but needs a household without cats, as she enjoys chasing them. Diamond walks well on a leash, and she's reliably house-trained using a dog door and fenced yard. This lovely and well-mannered little girl does face a challenge, though. She has been diagnosed with a type of benign tumor called an infiltrative lipoma. Although noncancerous, this type of tumor can invade nearby tissue and cannot be completely excised. Diamond may face another surgery or two to debulk, or remove as much of the tumor as possible. In spite of this, Diamond is a happy, playful little girl, who would love nothing more than a family to call her very own. Let's not disappoint dear Diamond!
