About Norman

Adoption Fee: $350
Maltese / Westie
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Are you looking for #PrinceCharming? Everyone meet the most charming man that you'll ever meet... #Norman. He's a 6 year old Westie/Maltese mix and gives the best kisses in the world. We promise that this handsome little gentleman will wheel you right off your feet %A4. Seriously though, you'll never find a more affectionate boy than this guy right here%9DAnd guess what... Norman is looking for his #FureverHome. Norman was dropped off to DACC to be euthanized at his owners request, due to being paralyzed and him being to much work. But our rescue family couldn't let that happen to that handsome little face. We immediately took Norman to Dr. Greear at Woodhaven Animal Hospital. Norman was diagnosed with IVDD which has caused him to become paralyzed. Our good friends over at the Animal Resource Funding Foundation set Norman up with a Wheel Chair. He wheels around like a pro in his wheelchair, but don't let that fool you! We've been rehabbing him to walk again and he can walk up to 8-10 steps without any help. Since we brought Norman into our care he receives manipulation chiropractic biweekly, acupuncture monthly and physical therapy at home 4 times a week. When Norman isn't wheeling around the house, he's either snuggled up on a dog bed with one of his foster siblings, in bed with his foster dad or playing in his baby pin. This dapper man deserves the best home in the entire world. At the end of the day, Norman is the perfect dog, but does take extra time, patience and more work than the typical dog- Including expressing his bladder. He gives the best kisses in the world and makes the extra work worth it all! Norman is great with everyone, including other dogs, kids & cats. Norman is currently up for adoption through Lending A Helping Paw Dog Rescue. Our adoption fee will include his distemper, rabies, bordetella, parvo, and lepto vaccines; deworming; microchip; heartworm test; fecal test; being fixed & a dental cleaning. Norman is heartworm negative & is currently on heartworm prevention, as well as flea & tick preventative. Norman's wheel chair will be included in his adoption. Norman's Medical Needs: After Norman is adopted, he will need to go to Manipulation Chiropractic once a month (between $50-$75 per session on average). Norman will also need to receive acupuncture once every 3 months (between $60-$75 per session on average). We will answer any questions about Norman's on going medical needs on the phone interview. So we kindly ad that you save all questions until then. Thank you in advance. PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST & FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS Again, we kindly ask that you please read the entire post to answer your questions. If you cannot follow the instructions properly, we will skip your application and move onto the next one. We kindly ask that you save any questions, comments or concerns for the phone interview. We kindly ask the following: No phone calls, No pm's, & No multiple emails- We are all volunteers and promise to get back to you within a timely fashion! Lending A Helping Paw Dog Rescue; previously known as the Lending A Helping Paw Dog Rescue, is a 100% Foster-Based Rescue that is ran by all Volunteers. Which means that we are not a shelter & each animal is in an actual home with a foster family. We kindly ask that you put any questions within the email & our team of Volunteers will get back to you. With the overwhelming amount of emails please be patient with our 100% volunteer family and we will get back to you. The application MUST BE filled out, a Vet Check MUST BE completed by our team, as well as a phone interview before we do a 'Meet N Greet.' Vet Checks: When adopting through our rescue, we 'ALWAYS' do a vet check on each applicant's pets that they have owned over the past 10 years. Please make sure to call your vet to grant them permission to release this information to our rescue. That being said, all of the animals in each applicant's home must be UTD on all of their vaccines (DHLPP & Rabies), an UTD Heartworm Test, & currently on both Flea & Tick, as well as Heartworm Prevention. So please make sure that when you are applying that all of your current animals go to the vet that is listed. How To Apply: If you're interested in adopting one of our available dogs: 1. Email [email protected] with the dogs name as the subject when you ask for the adoption application. 2. Once you have completed the application, please print it out, fill it out, scan it, & then email it back to [email protected]. 3. Please make sure to call your vet to grant our organization permission to do a vet check on your current pet. 4. If you are interested in more than one dog, please list your top 3 choices on the completed application. 5. Please be honest & truthful on your application. We always do a vet Check. We always do a home visit. And we always have both the prospective families & dogs best interest at heart!
