TO BE KILLED 3/3/2020 Help needed is a foster or adoptee to save this sweet angel's life ! ABANDONED IN AN APARTMENT! THE WORLD CAN BE A CRUEL PLACE AND POOR MIZZOU HAS FELT HOW COLD AND HEARTLESS IT CAN BE! Even through all of this, Mizzou has some hope and love. READ HIS BEHAVIOR ASSESSMENT NOTES - Over time he began coming over to counselor and leaned his body into counselors legs and allowed petting on head and body. He walked around the room with a wiggly body and was tail wagging, he chased his tail a few times. He began eating treats and drank water, allowed microchip scanning. He jumped up towards other counselors to get pets and attention. Dog knocked down the dividing gate and went over to 2 cat carriers to sniff, cats growled and swat at dog. Dog was very interested in them and sniffed the area even after they left the room. YES, MIZZOU IS SCARED AND STRUGGLING AT THE SHELTER! Please consider showing him that there is hope and love in this world, please consider opening your home and your heart and #SAVEMIZZOU now! Mizzou #89419 Neutered male brown dog @ the Manhattan Animal Care Center About 3 years old Weight 74 lbs Surrendered as a agency on 2/25/2020. Sorry, this pet is for new hope partners only. Mizzou is at risk for behavioral reasons. Mizzou came to us as a stray after being found in an empty apartment. At the care center, Mizzou has remained fearful and bit one of the staff members when being collared after a medical exam. Mizzou has continued to display distance increasing behaviors and has not allowed for handling. Mizzou would be best suited for placement with a new hope partner that can provide a low stress environment as well as behavior modification and management, particularly as it pertains to his fearfulness and handling sensitivities. Medically, Mizzou seems healthy. My medical notes are... Client care specialist came into room to wait with the dog to see if kennel was ready, before counselor left client care specialist was helping to collar the dog. The first collar attempt the dog head ducked and walked away. The 2nd collar attempt dog head flipped and snapped at specialist's hand, then lunged towards specialist.
