About Dexter

This sweet 12 year old boy (but acts about 8) has been in our family for 11 years. Due to family circumstances we are moving for 1 year and cannot take him with us. We ideally would love to find a family to take him for just one year. But we know this is a lot to ask, so if a permanent new home is best for him than that is what we want. We would pay for all his food and care for 1 full year. He is so sweet he gets pushed around by our bossy cat (my sister is taking her). We raised 2 babies with him and he never once growled or showed any aggression with any kids or humans. Sometimes he meets a dog he doesn't like but he never gotten in a fight. He is a very affectionate dog that loves to lean on you and cuddle. He needs a solid walk every day and a fenced in yard would be ideal. We use a remote training collar for walks off leash that we would give you - very high quality - by sportdog. He's used to having a yard and wooded area to run free but is fine on a leash as well. Ideally we would love for him to have a large fenced in back yard but also know he will be okay without one as long as he gets a good walk once a day.
