About TROOPER

Adoption Fee: $550
Australian Cattle Dog / German Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Animal Welfare organizations have been deemed as essential business, and so we are able to continue our operation. However, we are taking the threat of COVID-19 very seriously and are following the government guidelines and implemting our own precautions. Meet & Greets will continue to be on an appointment basis only. They will take place either in the outside enclosed area, or the large room at the end of he kennels. There is a no contact, other than with the dog in place and children will not be allowed out of their vehicles. TROOPER was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine TROOPER is neutered, core vaccines, rabies, heart-worm & tick disease tested negative, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 13 February 2019 and at the time of rescue in February 2020 weighed around 46 pounds. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely. TROOPER arrived at the rescue on Tuesday, 25th February and has settled in well. He is living in a communal area with around 15 other dogs ranging from small terriers to 120 pound shepherds and gets on great with them all. He is active who loves to run and chase the other dogs and when he see's humans he will just immediately run up to greet them and make sure he gets his share of the love and fuss. Trooper would make a great family addition, to a family that is active and likes the outdoors - he is fun, gentle, loving, playful and active. He is intelligent and would enjoy and be very easy to train and would probably enjoy agility type games. All dogs use dog doors to go out and do their business or to enjoy the cool, fresh weather in their dog runs or communal areas. We cannot say if a dog is house-trained, however, we expect families to understand that all dogs need a transition period and accidents could happen and training is most definitely needed. All dogs are fed Rachael Ray Nutrish PEAK Natural Dry Dog Food, Grain Free Western Grasslands Recipe with Bison. Rachael Ray Nutrish Peak Dog Food receives the Dog Food Advisor's second-highest tier rating of 4.5 stars. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO COMMENT HOW HE WILL BE AROUND CATS OR LIVESTOCK. TROOPER is available for adoption for an adoption fee of US $550. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food, general day to day cost of running a brick and mortar rescue and anything else that is needed. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the ADOPTION INFO tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION.
