About JASMINE

Adoption Fee: $550
German Shepherd mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Animal Welfare organizations have been deemed as essential business, and so we are able to continue our operation. However, we are taking the threat of COVID-19 very seriously and are following the government guidelines and implemting our own precautions. Meet & Greets will continue to be on an appointment basis only. They will take place either in the outside enclosed area, or the large room at the end of he kennels. There is a no contact, other than with the dog in place and children will not be allowed out of their vehicles. JASMINE was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine JASMINE is spayed, core vaccines, rabies, heart-worm & tick disease tested negative, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 27 January 2016 and at the time of rescue in February 2020 weighed around 54 pounds. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely. JASMINE was the lucky girl chosen by our amazing volunteer foster family to go and stay with them in Greenville, just 30 minutes from the rescue whilst she waits for her forever family. Well, I say the family chose her, it was more she chose them and there was no way she was going to let them leave without her - she was cuddling, pawing at them when they wasn't paying her attention, putting her head on their lap and just totally doing everything to make them immediately fall in love with her. She left on 31 March 2020 and is doing great, she had car-karaoke on the drive to her new temporary home, she loves both her mum and dad, she is polite, well mannered, great on the leash, sleeps on her bed, friendly, loving and although not too playful yet, she is still figuring out where she is and adjusting to a life with her own 'temporary' family whilst waiting for someone to love her forever. JASMINE arrived at the rescue on Tuesday, 25th February and is a complete love bug and goof-ball. She is living in the house and gets on great with the other dogs ranging from small 8 week old puppies to 120 pound German Shepherds. She can be a little shy with new dogs initially but then when all the sniffing has been done she enjoys playing and chasing with them. Jasmine is a great girl, she has clearly had puppies and may well have been used as a breeding dog to profit some sad human from the sale of her puppies. She was very skinny when she first arrived but has started to fill out, but could do with gaining a few more pounds for sure. Jasmine enjoys the company of the other dogs, but also loves to be cuddled and have her ears scratched, she does have a goofy personality and is a lot of fun, she is gentle and has a very good nature and I believe would make a great family addition. All dogs use dog doors to go out and do their business or to enjoy the cool, fresh weather in their dog runs or communal areas. We cannot say if a dog is house-trained, however, we expect families to understand that all dogs need a transition period and accidents could happen and training is most definitely needed. All dogs are fed Rachael Ray Nutrish PEAK Natural Dry Dog Food, Grain Free Western Grasslands Recipe with Bison. R achael Ray Nutrish Peak Dog Food receives the Dog Food Advisor's second-highest tier rating of 4.5 stars. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO COMMENT HOW SHE WILL BE AROUND CATS OR LIVESTOCK. JASMINE is available for adoption for an adoption fee of US $550. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food, general day to day cost of running a brick and mortar rescue and anything else that is needed. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks. https://www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org/forms/form?formid=5838 ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE.
