He has an estimated date of birth of 14 February 2010 and at the time of rescue in February 2020 weighed around 15 pounds. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely. DAKOTA arrived at the rescue on Tuesday, 25th February and at first he was not sure what was happening. We think he was most likely an owner surrender to the kill shelter, but are not 100% sure. Dakota is a senior boy, who is very gentle and quiet - he is living with the small dogs in the house and tends to keep himself to himself. I think it is a bit busy for him, he would prefer somewhere quiet where he can enjoy being loved and going on nice walks. He does snatch when taking treats and although he does eat with the other dogs, he can be a bit grumpy but I have never seen any aggression with him. All dogs use dog doors to go out and do their business or to enjoy the cool, fresh weather in their dog runs or communal areas. We cannot say if a dog is house-trained, however, we expect families to understand that all dogs need a transition period and accidents could happen and training is most definitely needed.
