About Sydney

Sweet Sydney would love to find a family to love her and care for her for the rest of her days. This girl was picked up by animal control in very poor body condition in December. (We often foster hounds from rural shelters that are facing euthanasia.) She has been seen by a veterinarian and besides her teeth (that are going to be cleaned on the 21.) she seems surprisingly healthy. She is now spayed, vaccinated and heart worm negative with no known health issue. Sydney is 11/ year old English coonhound/ blue tick coonhound. Don't let that age fool you she has plenty spunk left. In the house she is mostly low energy, doesn't bark at all, calm and very affectionate. She absolutely loves being held and will gently crawl on you to get patted. During the day she sleeps a lot but gets a little more active in the evenings. Nights are not a problem at all. She sleeps well till whenever you get up. Outside in the yard she likes to sniff all the critters and keeps herself pretty occupied with that and will howl sometimes when she finds something interesting or she sleeps on her dog bed on the deck when the weather is nice. Sydney does well on leash but will occasionally pull if she smells something. She enjoys meeting the neighborhood dogs and is absolutely non reactive. I cannot imagine that she would not get along with any dog. However we don't know about cats. Her housebreaking is going ok with only a few accidents. She likes both men and women and doesn't mind children at all either. We are hoping to find a permanent home for her so we can help another dog in need.
