About BOOTS-Boy

Adoption Fee: $550
Siberian Husky / Miniature Pinscher
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

BOOTS was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine BOOTS is neutered, core vaccines, rabies, heart-worm & tick disease tested negative, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 29 March 2019 and at the time of rescue in February 2020 weighed around 33 pounds. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely. BOOTS arrived at the rescue on Tuesday, 25th February and is a happy, actively, lively young boy. Boots is living in a communal area, with puppies both small and large breed, up to 120 pound German shepherds and he does great. He does jump up a lot, but that is very common for rescue dogs who are just so excited and want that human interaction, of course competing for that with all the other dogs. This is something that is very easy to train him out of and out of the rescue environment will most likely not be that much of a problem. He is an active boy who is going to need a dedicated, active family to take him on walks, hikes, runs or whatever is needed to give him the exercise this young high energy boy needs. Training is of course very important for all new dogs, so that they can learn the rules, bounderies and expectations, It is also an excellent way for both family and dog to learn each others body language and mannerisms. BOOTs is a friendly, happy-go-lucky boy and I feel would make a great family addition. He is coming up to a year old and so is full grown so a nice sized dog. All dogs use dog doors to go out and do their business or to enjoy the cool, fresh weather in their dog runs or communal areas. We cannot say if a dog is house-trained, however, we expect families to understand that all dogs need a transition period and accidents could happen and training is most definitely needed. All dogs are fed Rachael Ray Nutrish PEAK Natural Dry Dog Food, Grain Free Western Grasslands Recipe with Bison. Rachael Ray Nutrish Peak Dog Food receives the Dog Food Advisor's second-highest tier rating of 4.5 stars. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO COMMENT HOW HE WILL BE AROUND CATS OR LIVESTOCK. BOOTS is available for adoption for an adoption fee of US $550. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food, general day to day cost of running a brick and mortar rescue and anything else that is needed. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada.
