About Brody

German Shepherd / Pit Bull
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Hi, my name is Brody and I'm a 1.5-year-old (as of February 2019) pit/shepherd mix that weighs about 36 lbs. I am up to date on my vetting, neutered, microchipped and HW negative. I have lived in a backyard my whole life with a pack of other dogs, but I've only met a handful of people since I was born. I am timid and fearful of new people at first, but with time and love I start to warm up. I'll need an adopter with patience to understand my past so they can help me learn that this big new world is a nice and safe one. In my foster home, I am already learning how to adapt to new people and things. I do well with all dogs and am on the submissive side, so I don't mind someone else being the boss. I know 'sit' and am learning commands too but am mostly working on building my confidence. Aside from my apprehension with new things, I am a very calm and mellow pup. When I'm feeling comfortable, I have become a cuddle bug and love getting up on the couch for some rubs. I am house trained, and crate trained. I would do fine with kids with a proper introduction - sometimes the younger ones can scare me when they try to grab at me and play. I would probably not mind being around cats either, but my fosters haven't seen me with one to know for sure (just ask and they can cat test me!). I would probably do best in a family that already has a dog, as this is what I'm used to. Maybe that family will be you?
