About Chip

German Shepherd / Boxer
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Chip is a 3 month old mutt, he weighs about 14 pounds. He is very playful, stealing toys and be chased around are just two things he loves. If he isn't getting enough attention he will make sure you know, he's a bit vocal. He doesn't have a problem with the stairs. He can get on and off the couch no problem. Other than tearing up pee pads in his crate (he has something against them), he keeps his crate clean. If you ask him to get in his crate he will go right in but paw at the door for a couple seconds. We cover his crate at night so he understands that it's bed time, he may whine a little but then he knocks out. Chip eats in his crate and may steal food from his fur siblings so keep their food out of reach. I have never seen a dog drink as much water as this little man does. Keep his bowl full and be ready to let him outside to pee. He has no problem using the bathroom outside but if he goes in the house, it's on a pad. Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies. Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a 'teen' or adult dog. Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
