About Simba

Look deeply into those beautiful puppy-dog eyes! This happy Dachshund is Simba! He was owner surrendered to us with another dog and their puppy (the puppy has been adopted). Simba is between 5 and 6 years old and is 24 pounds of love! He likes to stay within eyesight of his person and regularly seeks affection. He will give you kisses and likes to cuddle up while watching tv. He also snuggles up to sleep in the big bed at night. Simba likes to lie in a dog bed during the day, or soak up some sun on the back deck, or wander through the yard checking out all the smells. He hasn't been out and about much beyond the yard. He rides well in the car and will walk on a leash. A fenced yard is required. He is potty trained and follows basic commands very well. Simba is friendly with everyone he has met so far, but he can be a strong alpha dog and can get jealous of another dog who is getting attention or invading what he deems his space. A good, proper introduction to another dog in the household is recommended. He does not do well with cats, but loves children. He has a gentle nature and laid back disposition making him a perfect family pet. He has a bent tail that curls up and is always wagging. He likes the activity of other dogs and enjoys playing with them. He enjoys his meals, and will help himself to anyone's bowl who hasn't finished. Because of this, he eats in his own room. Simba is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and has a lifetime microchip registration. He will make a great companion for a single person or as part of a family, as an only dog or as a dog with other fur siblings! Simba is just happy anywhere he can be loved!
