About Sandor

Lab / Boxer
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Sandor, is a stoic, yet very playful 70 lb, 2 year old, red and white, boxer-terrier mix found in TN. If you have ever seen Game of Thrones and know who 'The Hound' is, you will understand a Sandor's personality perfectly. He has 'angel wing' markings on the sides of his body, and he wants to love and protect your family, while being a goof fetching a ball and asking for belly rubs. He also does not lick, but does like kisses and 'nose boops'. Sandor has been going through heart worm treatment for 2 months, but is now done and will happily wiggle his body and wag his paint-tipped tail and feet, wanting permission to play and to be pet. He does well with children, and likes following them around to see what he can help them get into or eat what they drop. He does well with female dogs and with time can get along with male dogs as well. He is not very cat or small animal friendly, as he does not like them sneaking around without him hearing where they're at. Sandor knows commands such as 'sit', 'stay', and 'drop-it' and is quick to learn others with treats, which he gently takes. Sandor is crate trained, but while his foster mom has been away teaching for 8 hours a day, he prefers to snooze on the couch or play with his 5 year old Pyrenees foster sister, and has no accidents or damage to the house because he is fully potty trained and just needs some toys or another dog to keep him occupied. At nighttime he loves cuddling up for warmth, but will also lie on a dog bed in the room too. Sandor loves being by his humans and pack and prefers cuddling, playing, and chewing on bones or solving one of his many canine enrichment toys (he is very smart, quick to learn, and eager to please). He will also play wrestle with other dogs and people, but is very gentle with his teeth, only needing an occasional 'play soft' reminder when he gets excited. He does love to chase rabbits, but doesn't really care about squirrels or chipmunks. While he does well in an apartment and only has the occasional bark at strange sounds or a stranger, he would absolutely love a yard or going on long walks on a harness and leash to burn off some of his energy, so he can then snuggle or watch his family while resting next to them. He is not a fan of the cold, and would love for a human or family to adopt him so he can cuddle and wrap himself in blankets to stay warm.
