Chase is an approximately 3 year old, 62 lb. mixed breed. He is initially shy and quite nervous so he'll need someone who can give him time to get used to new surroundings. He will need someone patient who understands that some dogs take months to open up and show their true personality. We have worked with Chase extensively and he does extremely well with us, so someone who can continue giving him the structure and guidance he needs to feel comfortable is essential. Chase was fostered with another female dog of his size and teenage children and did very well. He is not too fond of small dogs so he shouldn't go to a home with one. A mellow female companion of his size would be best for him. Chase walks well on leash and minds his own business around other people and dogs. He loves to go for long walks or hikes and would do great as an adventure companion. Chase is independent and not needy but enjoys occasional affection. He definitely has a herding instinct so we recommend a home without children or small animals. He gets very nervous around cars but with set boundaries and a strong leader he does well and stays calm. He is crate and potty trained.
