Lucky was abandoned in the mountains. She was too afraid to come to anyone, it took 11 days to live-trap her, and some heroics. She was very underweight. Lucky was undersocialized to other dogs and people, but a lot of work has gone into her. She now LOVES playing with other dogs, and is becoming more relaxed around people, starting to appreciate what humans can offer her. She will always be a bit timid however. She is currently living at the Billings Women's Prison Paws Program, until a home can be found for her. They are working on more socialization with dogs and people, as well as basic training. She is a very sweet soul. A DNA test showed her to be German Shorthair Pointer, Greyhound, Husky, Malamute, and some other things. It appears that she was bred to be a racing sled dog. Whether she ever raced or not, or how she ended up lost in the mountains, we'll never know.
