About Jimmy Jack

Adoption Fee: $75
Bengal / Abyssinian
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Jimmy Jack is a handsome brown black silver short hair male approx. 3yr. His adoption fee is $75. He has been vetted and neutered. He is good with other nice non dominate cats and nice dogs with the proper introduction. He is good with older kids. He would also be fine as the only pet, to have his people all to himself. He was found roaming, crying and scared on New Years Day, this poor boy needed some love. He had been beat up with scabs and scars all over his neck and head. His 'savior' brought him home and cleaned him up, took him to the vet and now he is on a good healthy diet. Rescue mom would definitely keep him but her 10 other rescues won't have it. PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. PLEASE GET HELP IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP A PET. MAKE THE EFFORT! IT'S A LIFE! Jack has turned out to be quite the sweetheart and he LOVES being with his people. As with most kitties, he will need an adjustment period. Cats don't typically just go into a new home and own it like a dog. He will follow you around the house like a dog when he wants company. He loves attention, being talked to and gently cuddled. He is quite the talker, more so when he is looking for you or when he wants treats. He loves his head and chin scratched and warm fluffy blankets especially heated blankets. He is sensitive near his hips/tail and will give you a light love bite to let you know that overstimulates him. He doesn't mind being held, he will sit next to you or on your lap just to be near you. Jack is lean and lanky and has been filling in beautifully. His fur has cleaned up and becoming a healthy colorful coat again. He submitted to a bath to get cleaned up and he doesn't fuss much when he gets his teeth brushed. He is not so much a player but try some interactive toys like feather on a stick and shoe lace drag as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys. He loves kitty treats, a rectangle corrugated scratcher that lays flat on the floor and a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with the sun rays beaming in. He will expect to share your bed. Jack loves his food. He has been free fed Hills Science Diet Urinary care which is a quality diet (quality meaning the first ingredient begins with meat) and gets %BD can of the same food as above morning and night. He is more of a social eater and likes to eat when you are there with him. He will eat on his own as well. He really is a good boy. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cat's fluids. A diet of good quality canned food pate is better than dry food however there are some dry foods that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health. AVOID FISH! Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, love and an inside home ADOPT Jimmy Jack FOR LIFE!
