About Salem

Salem is the male kitten of Samantha and brother to Hilda, Zelda and Tabitha that we rescued from a light industrial park back in October. Salem has come a long way from hissing at every human encounter to now not running away/hissing. He is very playful with his siblings. He initiates play and chirps when rolled a rubber super ball to bat around. He does not tolerate being touched or picked up. And he will bolt when people get within a foot or so. He is bonded with his siblings Zelda and Hilda especially. Salem would make a great barn cat as he is big and strong. It would be preferred to get him adopted with one of his siblings. Salem is a beautiful cat. Salem, his momma Samantha and his siblings are litter box trained. Salem does not mark his territory in the house. They are playful, but only use their scratching post for their claws. Covid 19 Upadate: Since working from home since 3-15-202 I set up my office in the bedroom where the cats hang out. They have all made progress in getting more comfortable around people. We have also started to integrate them into the household allowing them to roam the house freely with our 15 year old cat and 10 year old 80 lb dog. They are learning to co-habitate. Salem has blossomed into one vocal (chirpy) guy! He is the bravest with our dog and loves to go downstairs and just hang out waiting for our 15 year old cat to arrive. He does follow her around, chirping at her but she is not a fan. He does the same to his mommma (Samantha) but she lets him know when she had had enough. He has developed into a large and beautiful cat.
