Meet the sweetest young boy Chernysh! Chernysh is a 3 years old German Shepherd/Lab mix, he is 38 lbs and 20.5'' at the shoulder. He was found abandoned in the house along with 30 other dogs when their owner died. The death of the owner appeared to be a real tragedy for Chernysh as he stopped eating and was hiding under the bed, where the owner died, for three months. He wouldn't leave his spot and volunteers had to force him to eat. Chernysh lost half of his weight... When taken to a foster home with some other dogs that he knew since his childhood, he came around fairly fast, he was so happy to be among people, and have food and warm place to sleep. Chernysh loves attention, but he would wait to be called and happily comes closer. He is a shy dog and will not do anything until he is allowed to (for example, he loves to lay on a coach, but looking at the other dogs who get in trouble, doesn't do any attempts to jump on). Chernysh is neutered, his vaccinations are up to date and he was tested for heart worms (negative). He is totally house trained, loves to play with other dogs and doesn't pay much attention to cats. Chernysh can be left along in the house for 6-8 hours. We would like to find a family preferably with other friendly dog, who will help Chernysh to adjust. He is good on a leash and needs 2 walks a day. But most of all Chernysh needs people's care and love! Please open your heart towards this young boy!
