Sasha lost a front leg after apparently being hit by a car. She is looking for a special person to call her own. If you appreciate the challenge of earning a dog's trust, Sasha may be the dog for you. She does not trust easily, but once she gets there she is awesome. She is vocal and energetic but calms down nicely. She likes to test you and see if she can call the shots, and respects a firm but confident person. Sasha requires appropriate exercise: her front leg amputation means building muscle mass is important to her healthy future. She is head shy, so we don't recommend her with children under the age of 8. She likes other dogs but get a little too excited about meeting them, so that's an ongoing process. She seems to like and respect cats but has not had direct interaction. Definitely a squirrel chaser! Sasha needs a fenced yard. A benevolent and knowledgeable leader. Companionship, training, and affection. She will be a great family member for the right person. We are hoping to place her in the Great Falls area so she can reach a place of trust before adoption. Phone calls rather than emails preferred if possible.
