I am mother to Remi, a 6-year-old, blonde, black mouth cur mix. This boy is loving and oh so cuddly! I have had him for around 8 months now. I am unable to pay for the training he needs and struggle to afford vet appointments. Additionally, he struggles with aggressive behavior due to either his breeding situation or his past. Here is a little of his story: My older brother received Remi as a brand-new puppy from a family friend. Remi was an intelligent and well-behaved pup! My brother was a very good father to him and trained him well. Once my brother's wife became pregnant�'�|. Remi began to show very aggressive behaviors, especially towards her and her pregnant belly. From then on, he was mainly kept in a spare room in a large crate. I'm not even sure if he was walked outside�'�|. There were pee pads on the floor. After a couple years of my brother saying he was trying to find a home he trusted, I decided I would take Remi in, if not permanently, temporarily. I have another dog that I've had since age two as a rescue�'�| Jack, a 5 year old Brittany mix. They got along seamlessly! I am now moving back to my parents' home and they refuse to have Remi due to their small papillon and his past behaviors. I have looked into training since the second month I had Remi, and just cannot afford what he needs. Additionally, my parents will help with vet appointments for Jack, but not Remi. He has not been treated for anything since 2017. (Thank God for tax returns! I was able to finally just get him into the vet yesterday, but they said they were unable to do any sort of treatment due to his aggression even under sedation.) Long story short- Remi is a sweet sweet boy. He really attaches to those he trusts and makes an incredible companion. He needs additional training and help with aggressive behavior and some obedience. His records are not updated, and they cannot be, unfortunately (I do have past vet visit info).
