About Max

Meet Max Max is a super little nugget of a dog. Cute-as-a-button and incredibly sweet. Max was found abandoned and all alone fending for himself. A Good Samaritan took him in and kept him for several days, feeding him and letting him sleep in the bed, as they tried finding his owner with no luck. We were glad to accept Max at our shelter and he arrived on February 1, 2020. Max is full of personality and energy. He resonates joy and love. Max welcomes a good lap to sit in and will slather you with doggie kisses because he's so excited to be with you. He loves attention. He loves being with people and other dogs, both small and large. Max loves belly rubs, squeaky toys and dressing in sweaters, especially when it's chilly outside. Max is thought to be a Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix. He has a short-coat, bright intelligent eyes and the cutest ears that fold over his face. He is about a year old and weighs 15 pounds. We think he may be house-trained, but most likely could use some rudimentary training. He's absolutely adorable. We are so in love with Max and know you will be too, when you meet him. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
