About Charlie

Adoption Fee: $100
Shiba Inu mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Charlie is looking for a home - Cape Town Unfortunately we don't have a garden for him and he's incredibly anxious so he literally will not go for a walk down the road as all and any noises scare him. We've tried anxiety medication and dog behaviourist(s). He is aggressive to visitors/ strangers unless introduced correctly. A bit of background on him: He's been brought over from Thailand when he was 6months old and since then any loud noises of trucks / airplanes / cars / bikes make him jump out of his skin. He's fiercely loyal to the people he comes to know and his family, but unfortunately he's very protective and is quite aggressive to visitors (until he gets to know them) He's a reactive dog and reacts to people / dogs out of fear. He's more of a scaredy-cat than a fighter and will run away rather than fight if given the choice. However, if on the lead he is very aggressive. A big no to any kids and very energetic dogs as they trigger his aggression. We have a dog and a cat at home and he's been fine with the two of them. Looking for a home for him that has a garden, someone who will understand and love him but has no kids. He's two years old and is thought to be of the Shiba Inu Japanese breed. He's a big dog weighing around 30kgs. Please no negative comments, this has been a really heart-breaking time for us. If you do want more information or if you know anyone who you think would be perfect for him and vice-versa, please let me know.
