About Percy

PENDING ADOPTION 3 year old male Beagle mix, about 18 pounds. Percy has spent the past year being fostered by a professional dog trainer. Percy has gained many new skills in the last year. He is described by his foster mom as: *Super fun, very active and agile, affectionate and smart as all get out. *Would do best in an orderly home. He get's into things and can get guardy if you don't handle him right. *Ideal home would be an active adult or adults with experience with Beagles, Bulldogs and Terriers. Someone with dog training experience preferred. *He would excel at any dog sport, agility, dock diving, rat hunting, flyball, rallyO, you name it. He would make a wonderful trick training dog, suited for film and commercial work! *He will need ongoing training work to keep him sharp and will need someone who can develop a relationship with him; not man handle him. He thrives with motivational training, has high defense drive and needs to be taught to trust and to cooperate with you. *Very social and loves to play with other dogs. He can handle very rough play, but also will leave dogs alone who don't want to play. *Crate trained, can chill out in crate just fine. *Ecollar trained. *His skills include (but not limited to) sit, down/stay, place, come, out, leave it, spin, shake, fetch. Loves to tug. *He will need lots of structure, boundaries and always be supervised outside as he will climb fences. *He is VERY high drive dog and will need someone who can fulfill that need and put it on controls. *He has improved on being handled a lot, but again, that will depend on a relationship of trust. He will not tolerate rough handling outside of play. *No cats or young children. Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters.
