About Iris

Iris is an energetic girl. She loves toys, and she has a nice howl! Her beautiful eyes are definitely an attention grabber, and she loves attention. Here's a quote from her temporary foster: 'When it comes to cats, she's been around them. All you have to do is tell her no. And to leave them. She's been around kids as young as a year old and the oldest is 16. In home she is not a barker or howler unless another dog is outside in the backyard(my yard is not fenced). She is not the best with female dogs(tried to introduce her to two and she flipped out on them). She has no problem breaking wire kennels if she's left alone(hence why she has the marking in her nose). I don't advise leaving her in a room by herself either. She tore up carpet in both of my bedrooms. She also doesn't really like other dogs getting close to her food. Especially when she gets to know you and loves you. She is very much a lover and people pleaser. Her favorite toys are stuffed animals. She LOVES to chew on raw hides and other hard dog treats that I give her. She does tend to grab it and run to her kennel though. She does need some training on the leash. And she does steal food if you leave it on the table just to go to the bathroom so we'd normally just call her to come in the bathroom with us while we go to the bathroom. She is also a trash digger so it's best to have a closed trash can. I also think the people who had her and let her go abused her. When I found her she was in heat. It was the 3rd time she had came to my house. But she doesn't like to be in trouble when you her what she did was naughty. She cowers and pretty much says sorry. There's times too where you'll try to get her out the kennel to go potty and she won't and if you try to reach for her just to pet her so she can come out, she yells. That's just some of what I've picked up and know since I've had her. She's a good girl.'
