About Shorty

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. Shorty is a 5 year old male Chihuahua, about 10 pounds. Shorty and Tinker came into rescue together when their owner passed away. While they lived together, Shorty was ruling the partnership, being overly protective and did not allow Tinker to thrive. They now live in separate foster homes and are doing fantastic apart. Hi there, my name is Shorty. I am somewhat of a mutt but have been found to look similar to a chihuahua. Also, I have a cute little curly tail so I think I might be a part pug also. I was recently separated from my brother Tinker and while I liked bossing him around, I feel I am doing just fine without him. I would not mind having another dog to live with. I am fairly young and love to play, eat, and run around in the backyard. I love going outside and barking at all the people and birds that fly around. It's one of my favorite things to do along with walks. I have found that some of my foster siblings hate rain but I find it so refreshing. I feel that I would do best in a home with no children as I am protective of my personal space. I am willing to nip if I am scared. As you know I did live in a home where my male owner died so I tend to sometimes be more friendly to men than women. I am a man's man, so to speak! Overall I do consider myself to be a fun and happy dog that can also be very playful. I would love to find out if you might be my forever home. Owner surrender Adoption contract and fee applies. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Notice: We do not ship dogs out of state. If you live within a five-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
