About Jaxx

Introducing Jaxx! He is an 11 year old, 12 pound Poodle. Jaxx is blind and requires drops in both eyes for dry eye, but that doesn't stop him! He quickly mapped out his foster home and gets around quite well, although he does occasionally run into things. His foster mom thinks he is also hearing impaired but doesn't think he's 100% deaf. Jaxx is a quiet, sweet boy who is very content with a warm bed and blanket when he's inside. He loves to explore the back yard with the other dogs and sniffs around happily. His foster mom is working on his housebreaking and, if taken out regularly, he will go outside. He does try to use the puppy pads inside as well. He doesn't go to the door to let you know he needs to go potty, but he will start pacing and looking for a place and will go if you take him outside. We aren't sure how he would be on a leash and a fenced yard is recommended to keep him safe from wandering off on his own. He really enjoys being outside, with supervision of course! He is fine with other dogs, but would be equally fine as an only dog. He ignores the cat in his foster home. Due to his blindness and hearing issues a home with younger kids would not be a good idea. He sleeps at night tucked into a soft doggy bed with a comfy blanket. Jaxx likes to be near his person, and will lay in your lap and enjoy being petted. He can be a bit grumpy at times and at first will growl when you put his eye drops in until he gets used to you and realizes you do not mean to hurt him. He can't bite though, he recently had a dental and has no teeth left! He is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. Jaxx really is a sweet boy who just wants to be loved. Please don't pass this gentle senior by, he will make someone a good little companion.
