About Harry

This is Handsome Harry, he is a beautiful long haired cat - and I put Maine Coon as his predominant breed because of his markings but he is smaller at 10.6 lbs. We rescued Harry. He is part of a colony of cats we have been working on rescuing here in Lone Jack,MO. This poor guy was very beat up when we caught him. His front legs required 4 drain tubes to alleviate abcesses apparently caused by fighting with the other males as the females come in to heat (who we are rescuing as well!). He has no desire to fight anyone these days! He's healing and neutered. He has gone from hissing at me anytime I approached to loving being petted, ears rubbed and even me holding him. He still needs patience and TLC but if he comes around like the other cats from this colony have, he'll be a lap cat soon. He needs someone to understand him and give him a chance to learn humans are trustworthy. I'm sure the effort will be well worth the love you will get in return. Harry is very bonded to a female named Sally who is also posted here on rescueme.org and is the cat in the background of this photo. She is smaller, younger and sweet and we feel would benefit greatly being adopted with Harry! Harry is approx 6 yrs, tested (negative) for disease, vaccinated, neutered, treated for fleas and ear mites as well as the injuries to his legs.
