Adoption Fee: $349
Pekingese
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Name: Penny Thompson Sex: Female Spayed/Neutered: Yes Breed: Pekingese (long coat) Weight: est 12 lb Height: est 11 in Estimated Birthdate: 10/31/2014 Fence Needed: No Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Adoption Fee:$349 Date into Rescue: 09/08/2019 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release What kind of home would be best for me: Penny is used to being the apple of her owner's eye and she is looking for that again. We think Penny will do well in a variety of homes. She knows how to be a dog and would be great for new owners. If she is part of a pack, she expects to be the queen and would be great for a pup seeking a confident friend. She can occasionally be snippy with other dogs and can protect her food. She's all pekingese! What is my personality like: Penny is a confident princess. Penny loves to play - both with toys and with other dogs. Penny is great on a leash and loves to go for walks. She is a little nervous in cars and prefers to be held or crated. She does not much like company in her house and won't let a stranger touch her in the house. Get her out of the house and she is just fine. How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly and affectionate, Penny will eagerly sit in a nearby lap! Tips and Tidbits: October 31, 2014. Penny hates to take medications and you have to have some patience to do that. She can eat around a pill in a pill pocket and even with home made food, she can pick through what she wants to discard what she does not want. Penny needs her own space to eat in. She eats until she is comfortable but does not always finish her meal. When she is finished eating, she will lay next to her bowl to guard it so simply pick it up. Thunderstorms and fireworks scare her, Penny has her own thundershirt to handle those loud noises. House trained: Penny is pee pad trained and will also go on a towel or rug, too. She mistakes them for puppy pads. Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
