About Raksha

Raksha is a 100lb, 5-year old Mastiff originally rescued from a meat farm in South Korea. Despite having a very traumatic beginning to her life, she is a loving, playful, and goofy dog that enjoys cuddling with her humans, hiking, and playing with her toys. She has some dog aggression issues (particularly under high-anxiety situations), and due to this she must be in a home without other animals. She is great with humans, including children, but due to her size it is recommended that she not live with young children. The ideal situation for Raksha would be in a calm setting with a human who enjoys walking/hiking (which help to reduce Raksha's general anxiety) and who is a confident leader capable of devoting time and energy to continuing to train/lead Raksha to be comfortable in the world. Although we are seeking a permanent home for Raksha, a foster home and/or rescue willing to take her in would also be wonderful. She must be in a new home by the end of March, or she will be euthanized.
