About Lily

Lily is a sweet dog who has had a rough life. She was abandoned by her owner sometime after he adopted her from the Humane Society. He hoped to keep her but he had to move and could not take her with him. We have her medical records from the Humane Society and they were updates while we boarded her for six weeks hoping her owner might be able to take her back but he finally gave up and released her to us to find her a forever home where she could be loved and cared for. She had a foster home with three other dogs and that was difficult for her, even though her Foster Mom tried to be sure Lily got what she needed as far as attention, etc. It was clear that she needs to be an only dog, and live with adults only who can give her the love she needs and gain her trust. She needs a safe space, like a kennel she can feel safe in and go there when she has fear. AT some point she was probably abused and mistreated and she can become aggressive when she feels threatened. WE feel the right person, especially if they are willing to work with her will see her loving and cuddly side. When she was boarding that came out whenever she was alone with visitors, however her feet are sensitive due to an old injury on one of them so you do have to pick her up carefully.
