About Lexi

Medical: Spayed, Microchipped, Vaccinated Age: 1 Year Old Story: Do you know those fainting goats that fall over when they get excited or startled? Lexi's the same way! �'�� Lexi is a total goofball and absolutely loves everyone she meets! She's housebroken, crate trained and gets along with humans of all ages! �'�� She has a condition called Myotonia Congenita which affects her muscles and causes continuous contraction of the muscle fibers themselves. This is the same thing that causes those goats to faint! If she gets too excited or overstimulated, the condition is triggered and her muscles contract without her being in control of it. This can happen if she's playing or running and gets too excited; her legs will tense and she'll topple over. Regardless, she doesn't let it or anything else slow her down or stop her from loving life!! �'�� This is something that she'll have for the rest of her life, but the good news is that it won't progress any more and she won't get any worse! There's a chance this condition will affect her heart more as she gets older, but that's years down the line and she'll be able to have a full life before it ever becomes an issue. She's on a medication that helps to manage her condition, even when she's excited. She'll always have her quirks, but she's more than able to live a full, super happy life! �'�� Lexi loves to play and would do great with a fun and active household in a family that will be able to give her the medication every 8 hours. She would be happiest in a home with another playful dog, as she is currently fostered with a dog and a cat, both of whom she loves! Her favorite toys are tennis balls and she loves to just carry around soft squeaky toys.
